On Sunday August 15th, St. Paul celebrated back to school with the blessing of the backpacks.
Children of the congregation were encouraged to bring their backpacks to service to act as a symbol for the new school year. The children, parents, grandparents and congregation members who are a part of schools gathered at the altar during service to receive a blessing.
We pray that students, teachers, parents, and support persons have a safe and productive school year filled with learning and fun. We pray that God continues to watch over and be a part of all things this school year.
These backpacks are filled with work to be done, books to be read, and supplies like notebooks, crayons, markers, ruler and all kinds of supplies to help the kids be successful in the school year.
The children received a keychain with a bible verse to clip on their backpacks to remind them that Jesus is with them every day.
